The former with shaped-triangular blade engraved with female mask and scrolling foliage and with presentation inscription within an oval cartouche, the ivory handle carved to simulate wickerwork, marked on reverse - 14in. (35.5cm.) long, the latter with shaped blade pierced with latticework, 12in. (30.5cm.) long
The inscription read 'Prestented TO THE RIGHT HONORABLE EARL OF ZETLAND ON THE OCCASION OF HIS LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE OF THE NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL HALL KENSINGTON 21ST JULY 1885' (2)
