AN H. & R. DANIEL CRESTED APPLE-GREEN-GROUND PART DINNER-SERVICE MADE TO THE ORDER OF THE EARL OF SHREWSBURY
Circa 1827

Each piece with the central crest beneath an Earl's coronet within a broad green border painted with an exotic bird in a wooded landscape, a hanging basket of flowers and a bouquet within richly gilt and yellow foliage-scroll cartouches divided by bronzed and gilt flowerheads and foliage, within shaped gilt gadrooned rims, comprising:
Two shaped circular vegetable-dishes and five covers with gilt fruit and foliage finials (one dish and four covers cracked)
Two shallow circular two-handled dishes
Two deep oval dishes (one extensively damaged, one cracked)
Six shaped oval dishes in three sizes (the two smallest cracked)
Twelve soup-plates (one extensively damaged)
Twenty-four dinner-plates (one broken, three extensively cracked)
(some minor rubbing to gilding and ground colour throughout), most pieces with puce printed marks
