Lot Essay

Drawn on May 9, 1804 on the way from Naples to Sicily by ship. Schinkel records in his diary 'Morgens nur Himmel und Wasser. In der Ferne zeight sich nach und nach der Strombolo und die Liparischen Inseln. Schöne Formen der verschiedenen Felsinseln am Horizont des Meers'.
