A versified version of the famous story of Bahram Gur and his seven mistresses, Persian manuscript on paper, 47ff. plus three flyleaves, each with 18ll. of excellent black nasta'liq in two columns, gold floral sprays between columns, gold, blue and green margins between black rules, blue outer rule, occasional lines in gold, some folios with the text written diagonally between gold arabesque panels, headings in gold in illuminated panels, (light wear and repairs, possible lacunae), opening bifolio with later decorated margins and applied illuminated heading, three contemporary miniatures within the text with decorated margins (retouched), final 'colophon' written over original heading, opening and closing folios with 17th century manuscript border fragments pasted over original text, 16th century black lacquer binding with gold painted mythical creatures among palmette sprays, in a wide palmette border (slight wear), tan morocco doublures with decoupé medallion and cartouche border
