The tapering double edged blade inscribed on one side with the date 1128, the other with a short band of naskh, the agate handle in the form of a crutch inset with small stones, a collar of turquoises below, the sheath covered in repoussé silver-gilt fish-scale designs, two lobed jewelled panels above set with various stones, the agate terminal carved with a hexagonal lattice below the turquoise collar
