A BURR AMBOYNA AND IVORY DOUBLE BED, MODEL 518B
DESIGNED BY JACQUES-EMILE RUHLMANN CIRCA 1925

The head end veneered with squares of burr amboyna, shaped top applied with tapering ivory banding scrolling at the ends, flanked by two corners applied with raised octagonal plaques with central ivory discs, tapering octagonal sectioned legs with short legs and circular ivory feet.

Lot Essay

The Wolfers archive indicates that this bed was purchased circa 1927 together with the dressing table No. 1534 (lot 209), for a total of 15,000fb, in anticipation of the completion of their apartment in the rue de Praetere.
