Scott's portrait of Swinburne, painted in 1860 when the poet was twenty-three, is at Balliol College, Oxford. Madox Brown's self-portrait, dating from 1875, is reproduced in F.M. Hueffer, Ford Madox Brown, 1896, facing p.1.
