With rebrowned twist two-stage barrel with gold fore-sight, chiselled girdle, gold signature and two gold lines at the breech, and gold-lined touch-hole, signed bevelled lock with stepped tail engraved with a dog, roller, and gold-lined rainproof pan, engraved grooved tang, figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip, engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard in the French taste, gold escutcheon engraved with a crest, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, and original brass-mounted ramrod, in well used condition throughout: in contemporary fitted oak case (lining damaged) with accessories, the lid with D. Egg trade label for circa 1786-1805, the exterior with flush-fitting carrying handle, Tower proof marks
