With rebrowned two-stage twist barrel with signed octagonal breech section changing to polygonal, case-hardened recessed patent breech with two gold lines and platinum-lined touch-hole, scroll engraved case-hardened tang, signed scroll engraved case-hardened flat bevelled lock with stepped tail, roller and V-shaped rainproof pan, bird's eye maple half-stock, chequered grip, finely engraved blued iron mounts, silver escutcheon, fore-end cap and barrel-bolt escutcheons, original brass-mounted ramrod, and much original finish: in contemporary lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories and the hammer and nipple attachment for percussion ignition, the lid with trade label for circa 1816-35 and flush-fitting carrying handle, London proof marks
