The barrel painted in imitation of bamboo and with detachable brass ferrule, made to lock into an iron sleeve at the breech, the sleeve signed on the top flat, deeply engraved with foliage against a punched ground and, on the left side, with a sportsman shooting at a boar in a landscape, also on a punched ground, the barrel and sleeve each with platinum-lined touch-hole, signed and engraved case-hardened flat lock with external mainspring, roller, rainproof pan, and 'French' cock, chequered figured walnut butt with finely engraved iron trigger-guard and silver escutcheon engraved with initials and coronet, signed attachable iron-mounted skeleton butt, and some original finish: in associated relined and refitted mahogany case with accessories and attachable walking-stick handle (wooden grip replaced), the lid with trade label for circa 1816-1835 and flush-fitting carrying handle, London proof marks
