A CASED FINE 16-BORE FLINTLOCK SPORTING GUN

With rebrowned two-stage twist barrel signed on the top flat and with silver fore-sight, engraved case-hardened recessed patent breech with platinum-lined touch-hole, scroll engraved tang, signed engraved flat case-hardened serial numbered lock with roller, V-shaped rainproof pan, 'French' cock, and signed patent steel, stained maple half-stock, chequered grip, finely engraved iron mounts, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, silver escutcheon engraved with the Adair crest, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, horn fore-end cap, original brass-mounted ramrod, and traces of original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including copper powder-flask engraved with owner's initials H.E.A., the lid with trade label and with flush-fitting carrying handle and circular escutcheon engraved with the same crest as the gun, the whole set in fine condition throughout, the barrel forged by William Fullerd
