A 15-BORE SPANISH MIQUELET-LOCK BELT PISTOL

With slightly belled two-stage barrel with chiselled girdle retaining faint traces of gilding, octagonal breech inlaid with silver lines and foliage, struck with brass-lined maker's stamp and Barcelona mark, and three further marks, gold-lined vent, signed engraved bevelled lock, chamois-leather finger-pad (originally covered with green silk), walnut full stock (fore-end partly replaced) carved with foliage behind the barrel tang and rear ramrod-pipe, border engraved brass mounts engraved with trophies of arms including side-plate, escutcheon and trigger-guard each with applied silver portrait bust of a warrior, spurred pommel with silver portrait bust of a Roman emperor, iron belt hook, and later horn-tipped ramrod (one ramrod-pipe replaced, barrel and belt hook lightly pitted)
