SIGNED WHATELEY, PROBABLY FOR JOHN OR HENRY WHATELEY OF BIRMINGHAM, CIRCA 1800

With turn-off barrels, signed border engraved box-lock actions engraved with trophies of arms and with tap on the left side, thumbpiece safety-catches, and flat-sided figured walnut butts: in lined and fitted oak case with accessories (barrel key replaced), the lid with trade card of William Bond, 59, Lombard Street, London for circa 1810-1846, and with flush-fitting carrying handle, London proof marks
