Lot Essay

The rifle is of exceptional quality and appears to be virtually unused. The maker is one of a very small number of German and Austrian gunmakers who supply an extremely limited number of rifles for specialized mountain hunting; it is understood that Furtschegger produces no more than about three rifles a year. The quality and finish of this rifle link it firmly with the old European tradition of princely weapons
