Lot Essay

Jean Duvivier (1687-1761) and his son Benjamin Duvivier (1730-1819) were medallists for the King. They formed a small collection of academies by French comptemporary artists. All drawings with this provenance bear the same characteristic black chalk numbering in the upper left corner of the sheets.
