Shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune configuration with a chu-kissaki point and torii-zori curvature, the forging pattern ita-me showing more strongly toward the tang, the tempered edge notare and the boshi ko-maru, the tang ubu with two holes and kiri yasuri file marks

The koshirae comprising a brown-lacquered scabbard fitted with an iron kojiri carved with a dragon in swirling clouds with gold highlights; the tsuka mounted with a pair of gold menuki cast as dragons and fuchi-kashira with gilt-metal family crests; a four-lobe iron mokkagata plate tsuba with a shakudo dragonfly among lotus petals, the insect's legs, lotus flowers and dew drops in gold
