Lot Essay

A pencil study of the same title from 1925 was based on a scene at a Girl Guides' Camp at Gee Cross, near Hyde in Cheshire. This drawing is in the collection of Professor Carel Weight and is illustrated as pl.26 in M. Levy, Drawings of L.S. Lowry, London, 1963.
