'Gianbatista Piazzetta Ven.'
Professor George knox pointed out that this is a preparatory study for an engraving, and is his earliest known drawing. The drawing is probably earlier than the engraving of the Four Evangelists of 1714, G. Knox, Piazetta, 1983, no.61 Finazzi is known as the publisher of Carlevari's Le Fabriche e Vedute di Venezia of 1703, and the subsequent two editions. It is interesting that even at this period Piazzetta's familiar technique for drawings for engraving was already established
