Leriche worked from 1757 for the Manufacture de Sevres, where he was in charge of the sculpture workshop. Most of his known works are in biscuit (c.f. Lami, op.cit).
A very similar group, signed and dated 1785, was sold in these Rooms, 15th November 1984, lot 318.
