The form of this bowl is extremely rare. While many small pouring bowls from the East Persian area are known, this example is considerably bigger. This also has, added to the conical form typical of pottery, the mouldings around the rim associated with the bronze cauldrons associated with twelfth and thirteenth century Khorassan.
