A masterpiece of Spanish typograhy. This edition set new standards in both magnificence and quality of production, with the Royal Acadamy of Madrid commissioning engravings from the principal engravers of the day, after works by major contemporary artists. The text is based on what is now known to be the second edition, but which was then considered to be the first. Palau 52024; Cohen-de Ricci 218-19; Brunet I,1749 "Cette édition est un vrai chef-d'oeuvre typographique." (4)
