Joseph Marie Thomas Lambeaux ('Jef') 1852-1908.
Born in Antwerp in 1852, he studied under Joseph Geefs at the Antwerp Academy and won a gold medal at the Brussels Exposition of 1881. He became the leading exponent of Realist sculpture among the 19th century Belgian artists.
