The above is closely related to a jewelled and enamel pendant in the Victoria and Albert Museum which has similar graduated enamel beads around the edges and the same maker's initials on the clasp. The museum purchased the jewel from the Froment- Meurice display at the 1855 Paris Exhibition and it has been suggested that the initials belong to one of the outworkers that he employed. Cf. A.
