Formerly the property of Anna Harriman Rutherford Vanderbilt. A note accompanying the cross reads 'Seventeenth Century Italian gold cross. This piece was given to a Visconti by a Pope in the Seventeenth Century as a token of high favour. It contains the original relics inside the cross. There have been only two such crosses known, of which this is one. This cross was presented by Enrico Visconti to his Godson'
