From the collection of GUSTAV VON KLEMPERER (1852-1926) OF DRESDEN Sold by order of his Heirs In an entry to his European Ceramic Art (1952), W. B. Honey called the Gustav von Klemperer Collection 'Perhaps the finest published collection of Meissen porcelain, comprising nearly 800 items, besides Hausmalerei and specimens from other factories.' The collection was stored in Dresden during World War II, and as a consequence was largely destroyed in the spring of 1945. The following pieces represent what has survived.
