A version on canvas, with significant differences, of the picture by Jan Brueghel II in an English private collection (K. Ertz, Jan Brueghel der Jüngere, Freren, 1984, p. 322, no. 154, colour plate 31). Ertz (loc. cit.) describes the figures in that painting as 'by an as yet unidentified painter in Rubens' circle', and those in the present picture would appear to be the work of the same unidentified hand.
