This lot is sold with a certificate by Dr. Dario Succi, confirming the attribution and dating the picture to c. 1690. He relates the present work to A River Landscape in the Lazio in the Galleria Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, Rome (A. Busiri Vici, Andrea Locatelli e il paesaggio romano del settecento, Rome, 1976, p. 72, no. 88) and proposes to include it in his forthcoming writings on the artist.
