ONE OF ONLY 200 COPIES PRINTED, most of which were sold to subscribers; only 71 names appear on the original subscribers list. This fine work describes and illustrates life-size the birds which are not included in the works of Audubon or Wilson. The additional plate, though mentioned in the list of plates, is not assigned a plate number and instead given the note See Introduction. Although this plate has been recorded in other copies offered at auction, none of the cited bibliographies call for it, or even mention it.
