This Medal was struck to reward the Officers and crew of R.M.S. Carpathia which had gone to the rescue of survivors from the White Star Liner S.S. Titanic on the night of 14-15.4.1912.
Medals were awarded in gold, silver and bronze according to the rank of the recipient - 110 Silver Medals are believed to have been issued.
