Lot Essay

Cronis, a princess, was Apollo's lover and was with child by him, but she left him for another. The news was brought to Apollo by a snow white crow that he had set to watch over her. In a fit of jealous rage he cursed the crow which turned black and then he slew Coronis with an arrow. He tore the child from her womb and gave it to the care of the centaur Chiron. It grew up to be the God of Medicine, Asclepius.
