Chabbar
Air Mail cover 1919 (10 Nov.) India 1a. postcard (minor creasing at left) from Chahbar to Karachi carried on the first airmail flight from London to Karachi, cancelled by "CHAHBAR/PERSIAN GULF" c.d.s. and showing three-line flight cachet in violet and arrival c.d.s. adjacent. The message reads "... M. Poulet is carrying post to Karachi and is going on to Melbourne. He is the first aviator to attempt flight there... He was here for dinner last night ..." An important airmail rarity and probably the only item of mail surviving from this stage of this historic flight. Photo
