Lot Essay
See footnote to lot ___. Free translations of the appended poems follow below:
'By a Lake'
By the shore of a lake their necks entwine;
Spent, they grow quiet and swing a fan to cool them.
She toys with her fine, cloud-black hair, sits in her man's lap;
Such delights and joys as these should not be thrown away.
''The Leaping White Tiger' or Penetration from the Rear'
On the bed are arranged the cups of coupled pleasure;
Across the pillow a jasper-mounted lute is at hand.
With sweet words she urges her man not to be rough;
She hangs on his rocking hips, supports his embrace.
