Lot Essay

This drawing and another of comparable character, A Lion Hunt in a private collection, Berlin probably date from the 1560s after Orsi's return from Rome. The influence of Michelangelo's Conversion of Saint Paul and contemporary Roman Mannerists, particularly Taddeo Zuccaro, is evident in drawings from this period
