Lot Essay

A reduction of the column (143 feet high) in the Palace Vendôme which was designed by Bergeret and made of the metal from Russian and Austrian cannon. It commemorates the campaigns of 1805-1807 and was constructed by Denon, Gondouin and Lepère in 1806-10
