An early 19th-Century lacquered brass compound monocular 'Culpeper'-type microscope, unsigned, the body-tube with rack and pinion focusing and engraved faith set positions for objectives numbered 2, 3 and 4, united with the stage and base by three scroll supports and diamond shaped feet, the mahogany plinth base with swivel mirror and accessory drawer with five objectives, various sliders, forceps and other items, in pyramid shaped case - 15½in. (39.4cm.) high.
