A GERMAN SILVER-HILTED HUNTING SWORD with straight partly hollow-ground blade back-edged towards the point, etched at the forte on each face with strapwork and a stag within a trophy of arms, the hilt (reversed) with downturned shell cast and chased in relief with a stag and foliated scrollwork, a mask above, rear quillon formed as a boar's head, knuckle-guard cast and chased with panels of foliated scrollwork, natural staghorn grip with foliated ferrules, and pommel-cap decorated en suite with the shell (button missing), early 18th Century
