WESTALL, William & OWEN, Samuel. Picturesque Tour of the River Thames. London: by R. Ackermann, 1828 [text watermarked 1820; plates 1826-1828].
Royal 4° (416 x 330mm.), title and last leaf of text with hand-coloured aquatint vignettes, engraved folding map and 24 fine hand-coloured aquatint plates by R. G. Reeve and others after Westall and Owen (some light offsetting of text onto verso of plates). Full dark olive morocco, gilt-panelled sides with elaborate cornerpieces, spine gilt, t.e.g., other edges uncut, by Bayntun Riviere, contained in fleece-lined maroon cloth box.
FINE LARGE PAPER COPY, from the library of H. L. Bradfer-Lawrence with his initials at the foot of the spine of the box which also contains the book's original cloth spine. A loosely inserted letter suggests this was Westall's own copy. Abbey Scenery 435; Tooley 503.
