4A SPANISH COLONIAL CABOCHON EMERALD AND GOLD RING, the rich green Colombian emerald weighing approximately six carats, with scalloped edge to the mount, plain gold hoop, circa 1650
The above ring with its assymetrical quality is reminiscent of a cabochon ruby ring recovered from the Nuestra Señora de la Concepçion which sank in 1638 during a voyage from Manila to Acapulco, see W.M.
