MISSALE ROMANUM. Venice: Bonifacius Cieras, 1674.

2° (350 x 250 mm.). Printed in red and black. Roman type, double columns, musical notation. Engraved title and 3 full-page engravings. Three short special masses of the Virgin bound in at the end (Rome: 1673-75). (Lacking final preliminary leaf, several tears slightly affecting text, some worming, staining throughout.) CONTEMPORARY ITALIAN EMBROIDERED BINDING, crimson velvet over pasteboard, heavily embroidered in raised silver thread, couched with yellow silk, the arms of the Della Rovere family of Rome on lower cover and unidentified arms on upper cover embroidered in silver, yellow and white and highlighted with RUBY CHIPS, wide borders and large corner ornaments of stylized foliage and fleurons, flat spine embroidered in compartments, gilt edges, (foot of spine and extreme corners renewed, some wear, several ruby chips lost).
