[AUTOGRAPHS] 19th and 20th Century, mostly British and European royalty, statesmen and officials, approximately 50 letters, notes and cards, 1883 - 1938, in an album, oblong folio, (upper cover detached), and a Visitors Book signed by members of European royal families, nobility and official guests at the British embassies in Copenhagen and Brussels, 1882 - 1891, one full page drawing in pen and ink and grey wash, 18 pages of signatures, 4to, (blank leaves).

The letters, addressed mostly to Lord Vivian (Hussey Crespigny, 3rd Baron) and Lady Vivian during their embassies in Denmark, Brussels and Cairo, include three autograph letters signed (as Prince of Wales) by EDWARD VII (King of England, 1901 - 1910), writing on the Vivians' departure from Copenhagen, on the death of Lord Vivian's father and enquiring about his health, others by Queen Alexandra, Princess Augusta of Hesse, Princess Louise of Denmark, the Duke of Cambridge, the Lords Salisbury, Rosebery, Granville and Iddesleigh (as Foreign Secretaries), the Khedive Ismail, Sherif Pasha and Nubar Pasha (Prime Ministers of Egypt), various officials and fellow-diplomats, and two Coronation invitations.
