Document signed ('Napole'), an Imperial Passport authorising Dominique Francois Burthe, a merchant of Metz, to visit England, printed on vellum with manuscript insertions, 370 x 250mm., vignette heading of the Imperial arms, Burthe's personal details recorded above his signature on the left hand margin, countersigned by the Duke of Rovigo (Minister of Police) and the Duke of Bassano (Secretary of State), Saint Cloud, 15 September 1815, stamped and endorsed on the verso by the French Consuls General in New York and New Orleans; and three autograph letters signed, one by Joseph Bonaparte, one by Louis Bonaparte and one by Eugene de Beauharnais, together 3 pages, 8vo, and three other items.
