AN ENGRAVED RUMMER, the tapering oviform bowl engraved with a large building flanked by a windmill, a mule carrying a sack and a equestrian figure, inscribed below W PLEASANTS JOHNSON,BORN AUGUST 23 and with the dated 1780 within a circular cartouche, the reverse with the initials E J within a husk cartouche and with a band of husks below, the border with foliate ornament, on a square spreading stem and stepped foot (minor chips to underside of footrim), circa 1800
