A SET OF FOUR IMPORTANT QUEEN ANNE WALL SCONCES, the back plates of cartouche form, each chased with scrolls, acanthus foliage, husks, ribbon-tied foliage swags, tasselled drapery and an oval rosette cartouche all on a matted ground, headed by a shell-capped mask of Venus and with acanthus bud below the detachable leaf-capped double scroll brackets each terminating in a circular strapwork drip pan and vase-shaped socket, each engraved with a coat-of-arms, by Anthony Nelme, 1704, engraved with scratch weights 24:10, 25:19, 24:8 and 25:3, the back plates fully marked, the drip pans with maker's mark only, the sockets with leopard's head erased only
