AN INDIAN KHANJARLI with recurved double-edged blade with strongly fluted medial ridge on both sides, the forte chiselled on each side with a panel of foliage overlaid in silver-gilt, and on each edge with a pierced stylised monster, iron hilt covered in silver-gilt and including chiselled knuckle-guard with monster's head terminal, shaped ivory grip-scales and beaked pommel-scales, each retained by two gold rosettes, in original blue velvet-covered wooden scabbard (velvet worn) with silver-gilt locket and chape each pierced and chased with foliage, late 18th Century
