A SWEDISH BROADSWORD with wide blade (pitted) struck on each face with the king's head mark of Johannes Wundes of Solingen, and with narrow central fullers stamped with letters, iron hilt with guard of flat bars comprising oval side-ring framing a concave pierced plate, and knuckle-guard each with a recessed central moulding, downcurved rear quillon, thumb-ring (detached), and heart-shaped pommel, decorated throughout on the outside with punched foliage (rubbed), and writhen wire-bound wooden grip, circa 1640
