Bronze mounted oval mirror supported in lyre shaped surround with scrolled ends, flanked by semi-circular uprights with swing-out drawer and cabinet on kidney shaped plinth, the whole finely detailed with ivory banding and inlaid ivory floral motifs and handles, carved and scrolled details

Lot Essay

Leleu's bedroom suite of 1923, was realized twice, once for Gonzalo Zaldumbide and once for Mme Chenard. The present psyché formed part of the ensemble belonging to the latter, which was exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs of that same year.
