Lot Essay

The attribution was proposed by Diane de Grazia who dates the drawing circa 1569-72. The dating of the sheet is based on the similarities with drawings for the Sala d'Ercole, Caprarola and the Oratorio del Gonfalone of 1569. A drawing of the Madonna and Child in the Louvre (de Grazia, op.cit., fig. 136) may relate to the present study
