The recto is a study of the arm of Saint John the Baptist in the lunette of the Foundation of the Certosa of the late 1620s in the Certosa at Garegnano. The studies on the verso are related to figures in the Deposition painted on the organ shutters of Santa Maria della Passione, Milan of circa 1627
