Copied from the painting by Pietro da Cortona in the Capitoline Museum, Rome, G. Briganti, Pietro da Cortona o della pittura barocca, Florence, 1982, fig. 115.

Countess de Semleyn who owned the present drawing had an outstanding collection of pictures by Platzer, and this drawing was traditionally attributed to him. Although the colouring recalls Platzer, it seems more probable that this is by a Roman artist recording one of Cortona's most celebrated pictures
