A FINE PAIR OF FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOLS with twist barrels in the Turkish manner each signed in gold on the sighting flat, moulded with overlapping scales and inlaid with gold strapwork on the breech, and with gilt-brass fore-sight and back-sight, and gold vent, engraved tangs, engraved and chiselled flat bevelled locks (one tail finial chipped) each engraved with the letters P ST W, chiselled details on the cocks, steels, and pans, carved moulded figured walnut full stocks (fore-end tips chipped), engraved and finely chiselled iron mounts including faceted spurred pommels each with small grotesque mask cap, pierced side-plates involving a serpent, a dolphin, and an engraved classical profile bust, and pierced escutcheons with a similar bust, winged putto supporters, and coronet above, engraved faceted ramrod-pipes, and original iron-capped ramrods, the barrels by Georg Keiser in Wienn, circa 1720
